News Asia is a multimedia news agency committed to providing timely, accurate, responsible and professionally produced news and multimedia content from across India.

Our services include news reports, video news, ground reports, exclusive interviews, photographs, audio-visual material, special reports and other editorial content in Hindi, Bengali, Nepali and other Indian regional languages.

Editorial Independence

News Asia maintains editorial independence in its news-gathering and reporting activities.

Commercial relationships, subscriptions, advertising arrangements or client relationships shall not automatically determine the editorial treatment of a news story.

Clients, advertisers, political organizations, businesses, government bodies or other external parties may provide information, statements or material, but editorial decisions remain with the News Asia editorial team.

Accuracy and Verification

Accuracy is one of the fundamental principles of News Asia journalism.

Our journalists and editors should make reasonable efforts to:

Where allegations are reported, the report should clearly distinguish allegations from established facts.

Children and Minors

News Asia shall exercise special care when reporting stories involving children or minors.

We will avoid unnecessary publication of identifying information that could expose a child to harm, harassment, stigma or exploitation.

Where required by law, the identity of minors involved in sensitive legal or criminal matters will be protected.

Photographs, videos and other identifying material involving children should be used responsibly and only where editorially justified.

No political party, candidate or organization shall receive guaranteed favorable editorial treatment because of advertising, commercial relationships or other business arrangements.

Submission does not guarantee publication.

Where appropriate, News Asia may seek confirmation regarding the origin and authenticity of submitted material.

Social Media and Digital Sources

Information obtained from social media shall not automatically be treated as verified information.

Before relying on social media material, journalists should make reasonable efforts to establish:

• Context
• Whether the material has been manipulated or taken out of context

Screenshots, viral posts and social media claims should not ordinarily be treated as independent proof without appropriate verification.

Artificial Intelligence and Synthetic Content

News Asia recognizes that Artificial Intelligence tools can assist journalism but also create risks relating to accuracy, authenticity, copyright and misinformation.

AI tools may be used for legitimate newsroom purposes such as:

• Transcription
• Translation
• Formatting
• Research assistance
• Data organization
• Captioning
• Language improvement
• Other editorial support

AI-generated or AI-assisted material must not knowingly be presented as genuine factual material when it is not.

AI-generated images, videos, voices or other synthetic media should not be used in a manner that falsely represents a real event, person or statement.

Where an AI-generated or substantially AI-manipulated visual could reasonably be mistaken for authentic documentary material, News Asia may identify it appropriately.

Deepfakes and Manipulated Media

News Asia will exercise particular caution when dealing with:

• AI-generated voices
• Manipulated photographs
• Fabricated screenshots
